General Counsel

Terry W. Covert is general counsel and vice president of compliance.  His primary duties include overseeing activities of the company funds, broker dealer activities, and compliance with state and federal laws, and rules and regulations of the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) and the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Covert began his securities industry career with Merrill Lynch in 1977.  After ten years in production, Covert and a partner developed a company that purchased and packaged installment contracts, many of which were sold for securitization. After selling the company, he joined Waddell and Reed where he became the division manager of the Winter Park, FL office.  He joined the Timothy Plan in 1995 to develop retail and wholesale sales. In 1998, he organized and oversaw the registration of the broker/dealer (underwriter) for the company.  Covert has also been a radio and television personality, and national public speaker.  He is a 1974 graduate of Ohio University (Summa Cum Laude), and a graduate of Barry Law School, Orlando (Cum Laude). While at the Timothy Plan, he spent a year attending the Southern Baptist New Orleans Seminary extension in Orlando. He and his wife, Sandra, are active members of Northland, a Church Distributed, where he is active in adult education and Christian mediation.  They have three children and make their home in Orlando.
